Cell isolation strategy based on shared surface marker or immunophenotyping marker is the leading practice in cell culture studies. Cells of interest can be isolated and preferential enriched from various sample source including, peripheral blood, cord blood, normal tissues and, tumors. The isolated cells can be used to understand/define the functions of a “purified” subset of immune cells, to test potency of therapeutic candidates, and as ancillary materials or raw materials for cell therapy manufacturing under cGMP conditions.
Using iPhaseSepTM magnetic beads coupled with highly specific antibody or antibodies complex, T cells (CD3+, CD4+, CD8+), B cells (CD19+, CD20+, CD138+), NK cells (CD 56+) and other immune cell subsets are obtained with the minimal cellular damage. Magnetically labeled cells are released from beads using release buffer and ready for downstream cell culture, flow cytometry and cell-based assays. Isolated primary cells can also be frozen using iPhaseCyroTM buffer for long-term storage in liquid nitrogen.
